Half Term Course 2025
15 - 18 February

Summer Course 2025
30 June - 4 July

After the success of the summer course 2024, we are excited to be offering two Dublin courses in 2025, February Half Term and Summer.

Rathdown School, Glenageary Road Upper, Thomastown, Co, County Dublin, Ireland

As ever, the course offers a cello lesson every day, accompanied masterclasses, performance platforms and student concerts; all this is done in a non-judgemental and supportive atmosphere.

Whilst the cello is our main focus, the courses also places an emphasis on the growth of the individual, vital for being able to do “our best” and perform with confidence on stage. There will be opportunity to be involved in some discussion forums, as well as some practical enrichment sessions (e.g. teaching an interview lesson and doing an orchestral audition). We will also have a yoga teacher present.

We welcome people of all ages and ability, and ask only for a willingness to learn and a love of music.

I am delighted to be able to introduce a stella, world class faculty, consisting of Martin Johnson, Matt Lowe and Sue Lowe*, who will be supported by the outstanding Fergal Caulfield (piano) and John Gibson* (Director of Abhyasa Yoga - Belfast)

It promises to be a fantastic week and we very much hope you can join us.

Best,

Matt Lowe (Artistic Director)

The Faculty

Martin Johnson – Principal cello of National Symphony Orchestra (Ireland) and teacher  at the Irish Academy of Music; Matthew Lowe – Freelance Cellist with the National Symphony Orchestra and Ulster Orchestra, High Performance Career and Life Coach, and former Director of Music at Bradfield College; Sue Lowe – Internationally renown cellist, former teacher at The Royal College of Music, York and Durham Universities, Eton College and Chethams School of Music.
